N028.55 W13.42 Canary Islands: We´ve made the first leg
We arrived in the Canary Islands today at about 4:30 AM. Full moon, escorted by a school of dolphins swimming around the bow.
And warmth...finally warmth!
We left La Rochelle on Feb. 15th at 8:30 AM, so we were about 8 days in the first leg. The Bay of Biscay and Cape Finisterre lived up to their reputation - windy and stormy and choppy. We had winds of 25 to 35 knots from the northeast, so we went as fast as we could to get out.
We´re happy and healthy. We´re still getting used to ´the dream becoming reality´: Today we had lunch in the harbour and as we admired the sailboats, we realized that we were also looking at our own.
We miss family and friends so very much.
Life is beautiful.

Formidable! Felicitations! I am keenly tracking your journey and cannot wait to hear news of a Pacific crossing (although I know it is a ways off). You both look fabulous. Please post a photo of Platina. Stay well and warm.
